Austin Peay State University’s men’s basketball team is set to face Lipscomb University in an Atlantic Sun Conference matchup on Saturday at Allen Arena in Nashville. The game will tip off at 6 p.m.

The Governors are entering the contest with an 11-5 overall record and remain undefeated in ASUN play at 5-0. Their most recent win was a close 74-72 victory over Eastern Kentucky, secured after a last-second shot by the Colonels was ruled late. This result marks Austin Peay’s seventh consecutive win, which is currently the longest active streak in the conference and matches their best run since January 2020.

Collin Parker leads the team in scoring, averaging 15.9 points per game. Alongside him, freshman Zyree Collins—who has been named both ASUN Player and Newcomer of the Week—is also contributing significantly, with both players averaging 18 points per game since conference play began. In Thursday’s win over Eastern Kentucky, Collins scored 18 points, marking his fifth time as the team’s top scorer this season and extending his streak of games with at least 15 points to four. On defense, Collins ranks first in the ASUN and 14th nationally with an average of 2.56 steals per game.

The Governors’ defensive efforts are notable across several categories: they are second among all Division I teams with an average of 11.5 steals per game and lead the ASUN in scoring defense (69.6), scoring margin (10.6), turnover margin (6.0), and turnovers forced per game (16.75).

Saturday’s matchup will be the 80th meeting between Austin Peay and Lipscomb, dating back to 1930, and their sixth meeting as ASUN opponents. Austin Peay holds a slight edge in the series at 40-39 but has only won once against Lipscomb in their last fifteen meetings since 2010.

Lipscomb enters the contest with an overall record of 11-7 and is 4-1 in conference play. Austin Peay currently leads the ASUN with four road wins this season, while Lipscomb has played eight home games—tied for most in the league.

Fans can watch Saturday’s game on ESPN+ or listen via ESPN Clarksville radio or the TuneIn app.

Following this matchup, Austin Peay will return home next week for games against Florida Gulf Coast on Thursday and Stetson on Saturday.

“After securing its seventh-straight win in a thrilling, two-point victory against Eastern Kentucky on Thursday, Austin Peay State University’s basketball team heads down I-24 for a 6 p.m., Saturday Atlantic Sun Conference contest against Lipscomb at Allen Arena in Nashville.”
