Austin Peay State University’s men’s tennis team was defeated by St. Louis University with a score of 4-2 on Saturday at the Paul Rowton Tennis Courts in Paducah, Kentucky.
The Governors started strong in doubles play. They secured a 6-2 win over their St. Louis opponents and clinched the doubles point after another pair won their match 6-4. However, one Austin Peay duo fell to their opponents 6-3.
In singles matches, Loubser lost his match in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0. Lu managed to secure a victory for Austin Peay with a two-set win, 6-4, 6-3. Ranciaro also lost his singles match in two sets, bringing the overall score to a tie at 2-2. St. Louis then took the next two matches against Arnet and Hormaza, which secured their victory as Tomovski’s match remained unfinished.
Austin Peay will next face Jackson State on Thursday at 2 p.m. in Jackson, Mississippi.
