Austin Peay State University’s men’s tennis team was eliminated from the 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference Men’s Tennis Championship after a 4-0 loss to North Florida on April 15 at the Florida Gulf Coast Tennis Complex in Fort Myers, Florida.
The match marked the end of Austin Peay’s season. The Governors were unable to secure any points during the contest, as North Florida won both completed doubles matches and three singles matches before play was stopped. In doubles, Austin Peay’s No. 3 pair lost 6-2, while its No. 2 pairing fell in a close 6-4 decision. The top doubles match featuring Rohan Loubser was left unfinished at a score of 4-4 once the point had been decided.
In singles play, Austin Peay dropped straight-set decisions on multiple courts. Loubser lost his match at No.1 singles by scores of 6-3 and 6-4 against Andreas Scott of North Florida. Another Governor fell by identical sets of 6-0 and 6-0, while Aron Major defeated his opponent from Austin Peay with scores of 6-2 and 6-1.
Despite the defeat, Austin Peay finished its season with five wins overall—four coming at home—and posted a neutral site record of one win and one loss after defeating Bellarmine in the first round of the tournament for their first postseason victory since 2015.
The results conclude another year for Governors men’s tennis as they look ahead to future seasons.
