The Austin Peay State University women’s golf team secured its first team victory of the season at the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate, held Tuesday at the RTJ Highlands in Huntsville, Alabama. The team posted a final round score of 293, finishing six strokes ahead of North Alabama after starting the day five shots behind.

Cowing led Austin Peay with a second-place finish, recording rounds of 70 and 74 for a 36-hole total of 217. Another Govs player tied for fourth place with rounds of 71 and 73, ending with a tournament total of 219. One teammate finished sixth after carding scores of 77 and 70 for a total of 221. Another golfer tied for ninth place with rounds of 77 and 76, totaling 225. The lineup was completed by a player who shot rounds of 81 and 83 to tie for 47th place at 248.

The team’s next competition is scheduled for March 9-10 at the Riverbend Invitational in Houston, Texas.
