The Austin Peay State University women’s golf team finished the first day of the Riverbend Intercollegiate in a tie for fourth place on March 9, following rounds of 287 and 303 at Riverbend Country Club in Houston, Texas.
The team’s performance places them alongside New Mexico State, just two strokes behind Tarleton State and nine strokes ahead of Delaware. The tournament’s format saw all teams play two rounds on Monday, with the final round scheduled for Tuesday.
Breedlove led the Governors with a combined score of three-under-par over 36 holes, shooting a one-under 71 in the first round and a two-under 70 in the second round to secure second place individually. Another team member is tied for 11th after posting consistent rounds that resulted in a total score of 146. Additional players contributed scores that placed them within the top third of the field, while others rounded out the lineup with solid efforts across both rounds.
Three Austin Peay golfers also competed as individuals. The leading individual shot rounds of 77 and 79 to finish tied for 58th place. Other individuals are positioned in ties for 64th and 69th after their respective performances over two rounds.
