Today, the Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, Patrick McHenry (NC-10), named Kim Betz as the new staff director for the Committee.

“I’m proud to announce Kim Betz as my next staff director at the House Financial Services Committee,” said Chairman McHenry. “Kim has been my close confidant and a top advisor for the entirety of my tenure leading Republicans on the Committee. Her deep experience on Capitol Hill is unparalleled—including leading negotiations on Ex-Im reauthorization, the CARES Act, and FIT21 on my behalf. I’m confident her strong leadership, sharp intellect, and unmatched work ethic will continue to serve the Committee well. I also want to extend my personal gratitude to Matt Hoffmann for his advice and counsel over the last three years. The American people are better off for his years of service to Congress, and I wish him and his family the best in this next chapter.”

Kim serves as chief counsel to Chairman McHenry and Financial Services Committee Republicans. Prior to her time at the Committee, she served as Deputy Staff Director and General Counsel for the Committee on House Administration under Chairman Gregg Harper. She also worked as an attorney for the Select Committee on Benghazi and as Policy Director for the House Republican Conference under then Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers. She has worked as an attorney on the House Committee on Judiciary under Chairman Jim Sensenbrenner, the Committee on Small Business, and for Congressman Steve Chabot.
