The Montgomery County Highway Department recently held a surprise retirement luncheon in celebration of Chuck Frost’s 39 years of service to their team. Chuck’s official retirement date is April 15.
As people talked about working with Chuck, the theme became clear – Chuck Frost has an incredible work ethic, vast knowledge about the Highway Department, and a humble spirit.
The room was filled with his immediate family members, people who have worked with Chuck at the Highway Department, and some friends from the Clarksville Street Department. It was evident that his work family will miss him.
Highway Supervisor Jeff Bryant said he was glad that he had the privilege of working with Chuck and that he understands they will be losing a great amount of institutional knowledge when Chuck retires.
County Mayor Jim Durrett talked about knowing Chuck since they were in the sixth grade, stating that although they took different paths after graduating from high school, Chuck with County Highway and him with the City Street Department, they remained friends through the years.
Assistant Highway Director Richard Teasley talked about Chuck's dedication saying he was often the first one on a job and the last to leave.
