Montgomery County Sheriff's Office The passing of Sergeant Bob Ott

It is with heavy hearts that we learned of the passing of Sergeant Bob Ott, who last served in our Patrol Division in the late nineties.

Bob Ott, age 87, of Clarksville, passed away August 6, 2022. He was born April 22, 1935 in Littleton, WV. to the late Robert M Ott and Delivera Bissett Ott.

Bob was retired from the US. Army for 20 years; being stationed at Ft. Bragg, Ft. Campbell, and in Germany, Vietnam (2 tours), and Korea. He served his community in law enforcement at the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office  for 23 years before transitioning into a career with the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA) for ten years.

“Bob Ott was the epitome of an American. His valiant service was unwavering as he served our great country in so many critical roles from the United States Army with multiple combat tours in two separate wars to taking the oath to serve here at home as a deputy sheriff and later an officer with the TWRA. He was known for being tough yet always fair. Our hearts here at our Office go out to his family and friends as they pay their respects to Bob,” said Sheriff John Fuson.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, August 11, at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. Pat Van Dyke and Rev. Roger Freeman officiating.

Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be Wednesday, August 10, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, and Thursday from 12:00 until the service hour, at the funeral home.
