Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy Wrapped in Quilt of Valor
As a part of this week’s line-up for the Welcome Home Veterans Celebration, nine military veterans were presented with quilts and hugs by our local Quilts of Valor group. The quilts symbolize to those veterans that they are wrapped in love and honor by people who care about them and their sacrifices.
War Veteran, Deputy Richard Byers, a patrol deputy assigned to our Uniform Patrols Bureau, and a field training officer was presented with a quilt.
Deputy Byers served as an Army Military Police Sergeant between 2006 and 2016 and was twice deployed to Afghanistan, and he has been with the MCSO since 2018.
