This week highlights the importance of ensuring that all children are properly secured in an appropriate car seat or seatbelt. It is vital to keep up-to-date with all current regulations and suggestions. Car crashes are a leading cause of death for children.
- 607 children under age 13 were killed in motor vehicle crashes in 2020.
- 608 child passenger vehicle occupants died in traffic crashes in 2019.
- 38% of children who died in 2019 while riding in passenger vehicles were unrestrained, compared to 33% in 2018.
