On world Pancreatic Cancer day, it is important to spread awareness throughout the month of November as a reminder to take action and help educate about the dangers of pancreatic cancer.
Pancreatic cancer has been predicted to become the second leading cause of cancer-related death in the U.S. by 2030. "In 2022, an estimated 62,210 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the U.S., and more than 49,830 will die from the disease," said the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
The pancreatic organ sits in the abdomen between the stomach and spine. Its function is to create enzymes and hormones that assist with digestion and help control blood sugar levels. This disease can be inherited, happen over time, randomly, or if you've had exposure to something harmful.
